The day-to-day activities
Brief summary of job profile:
The Senior Site Planner supports the Site Analysis (Assistant) Manager in driving data-informed decision-making for site selection and new store openings (NSO) strategy. This role manages cluster-level master data, conducts in-depth analysis, and delivers revenue forecasts, store analog assessments, and post-opening performance reviews – translating insights into clear, actionable stories that support Network Expansion strategy.
Key Accountabilities:
Cluster Planning & NSO Allocation
- Conduct cluster planning analysis and periodically review cluster performance by analyzing market potential, population density, traffic flow, competitor landscape, and existing store performance.
- Analyze and refine cluster boundaries, trade area coverage, and store density benchmarks to optimize network coverage and minimize cannibalization risk.
- Monitor cluster performance post-expansion and provide data-driven recommendations (e.g., accelerate, pause, relocate, or optimize stores).
- Provide analytical inputs and propose standardized framework and scoring criteria for cluster evaluation to support long-term Network Expansion roadmap.
Data Management & Analytical Modeling
- Build and maintain master datasets for cluster mapping, store characteristics, and trade area profiling. · Enhance the Store Analog database to benchmark new sites against similar high-performing stores.
- Develop and maintain a Rental Profile database, capturing rent levels, rent-to-revenue ratios, and lease benchmarks to support site selection and contract renewals.
- Support modeling tools to evaluate key site factors (e.g., visibility, layout, accessibility) and forecast revenue, CAPEX, and Box of Economy (BOE).
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and usability across site analysis models and reporting systems.
- Create and manage dynamic dashboards (using Power BI, Python, etc.) to support decision-making across departments.
Store Performance Analysis
- Conduct quarterly performance reviews of new and existing stores, analyzing post-opening performance vs. forecast.
- Analyze store performance prior to contract renewal, identifying risks and opportunities to support go/no-go decisions.
- Identify drivers of performance variance and provide recommendations for network optimization or strategy refinement.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate with Site Analysis Executives and cross-functional partners in Marketing, Operations, and Finance to align data requirements and strategic goals.
- Support the Site Analysis (Assistant) Manager in preparing strategic reports, presentations, and proposals for Head of Department (HOD) and relevant Departments.
- Prepare and deliver the monthly SND Committee report, consolidating key findings from site evaluation, store performance, and rental benchmarks.
- Respond to ad-hoc analysis requests related to expansion, renewal, or performance diagnostics based on business needs.
