The day-to-day activities

Brief summary of job profile: Responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of restaurant equipment and systems. This role will play a crucial role in selecting, testing, and recommending machines for various applications within our stores to ensure efficient operations, meeting business requirements, and enhancing the overall customer experience. Key Accountabilities: Machine Technical Evaluation & Selection
  • Research, analyze, and evaluate different machines and equipment available in the market. Make informed recommendations on which machines to invest in and why, considering factors such as efficiency, functionality, quality, cost-effectiveness and suitability for our store operations.
  • Collaborate with the Food & Beverage team to understand their specific requirements for different machines.
  • Work with the Operation team to understand the back-of-house infrastructure, store locations, different store types, operational requirements to provide machine recommendations, ensure compatibility of the selected equipment with existing systems and processes.
  • Understand the traffic flow and workflow within the stores to recommend the placement of machines to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Coordinate testing activities to verify if the machines meet the desired functionality, performance, and quality standards before handing off to operation.
  • Work with Supply Chain to evaluate the quality, reliability, and value of equipment offerings to ensure that chosen equipment meets the company's quality standards and provides long-term value.
Equipment Performance Monitoring
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance of all equipment across our stores to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Monitor the operation and performance of equipment across our stores.
  • Develop maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance procedures for all machines to reduce equipment failures.
  • Analyze equipment malfunctions and failures, troubleshoot equipment issues to resolve them timely, efficiently and with the purpose of preventing their reoccurrence.
  • Monitor current as well as new equipment performance and suggest repair/ improvements/ replacement when necessary.
Documentation & Training
  • Maintain documentation of equipment specifications, recommendations, maintenance schedules, and performance records.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and technical documentation as necessary.
  • Maintain documentations for equipment installation, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for reference purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards for imported equipment
  • Conduct training sessions to provide instructions on proper usage, address any questions or concerns from the Operations team to ensure that the machines are utilized correctly, maximizing their benefits and minimizing the risk of errors or malfunctions.
  • Create the comprehensive and user-friendly manuals/ guidelines to provide clear and step-by-step instructions for various tasks related to the machines.
  • Provide ongoing support and act as primary contact for equipment related questions and concerns.
Equipment Upgrades and Management
  • Manage the equipment inventory, including tracking and monitoring stock levels to ensure an accurate and up-to-date inventory.
  • Collaborate with the Food & Beverage team and Operations team to forecast equipment needs, optimize inventory levels, and coordinate equipment transfers between locations as necessary.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the latest trends and innovations in machine technology, particularly in the food and beverage industry.
  • Implement equipment upgrades, research and evaluate new equipment solutions to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.

Job requirements

Education/ Training Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • +04 years of experience in a similar role in hotel/restaurant/coffee chain or coffee machine & equipment business.
  • Proven experience in evaluating and selecting machines and equipment for the food and beverage industry, preferably within a coffee chain.

Knowledge of:

  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of restaurant/ coffee chain equipment and machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment selection, installation, and maintenance processes.
  • Technical specifications, performance metrics of machines, troubleshoot equipment issues and implement preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Familiarity with operational requirements and considerations for different store types and layouts.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and safety standards for restaurant/ coffee chain equipment and other relevant machinery.
